The Lebanese coalition for the International Criminal Court

Background on the Lebanese Coalition

Immediately after the press conference held in The Bar Association’s headquarter in Beirut, on February 7th 2006, the Lebanese Coalition launched a campaign to urge Lebanon to join the International Criminal Court ICC.

The main goal of this coalition is to work on joining of Lebanon to the ICC through its ratification on Rome Statue of the ICC,

The coordinative committee of the Lebanese Coalition is consists of  the next members:

Program of the coordinative committee of the Lebanese Coalition:

1.Organizing an extended forum for different civil society organizations  on the ICC “ functions and competences” , in March 2006.

2.organizing training courses for members of civil society organizations on the ICC.

3. holding meetings with members of parliaments,  ministers and politicians.

4.organizing media campaigns on Lebanon’s joining to the International Criminal Court ICC.

5.working on amending the Lebanese Penal Law and Military Judging Law, in harmonize with Rome Statue and humanitarian international law.
